This subreddit is not endorsed or sponsored by Apple Inc. Sorry for the huge post, here we go: There are a number of apps that I find worth purchasing, regardless of whether the payment is upfront or subscription based. The biggest criteria for me is multi-platform support (iPhone, iPad, & Mac), a native app (vs electron WHICH I LOATH), whether or not the app takes advantage of the best features of iOS (i.e. Drag & drop, side-by-side on iPad, etc.), and finally whether the app employs the iOS 11 design scheme, which I really like (but is a purely aesthetic and therefore subjective criterion). Edit: I am talking about the macOS version. Haven’t used the iOS client. Tweetbot is very overrated in my opinion.
Purchased it last night because I heard of the discontinuation of Twitter for Mac. Can’t send a message by clicking return (have to do Cmd+return). Window resizing is just awful and it broken.
Especially with one column. The elements don't move, such as the compose, new tweet, and column title.
Have to close and reopen the window to see it “snap” in place. In messages the same happens with window resizing. The UI is just awful and too “big”.
Stickers don’t display either. That might be an API restriction though, I’m not sure. Messages are “unread” even if they’re not, or I sent the last message.
Messages don’t show all messages. Not an API issue because I know Twitterific can do it just fine. There’s a lot more but this probably isn’t the correct place, and I’ve only used it for about 10 minutes. If it does the job for you, thats good, but for me, seeing all the recommendations and praise, I was expecting more. It’s a very average Twitter client.
